Vermont.

In Vermont, you don't need a permit to carry a weapon, either open or concealed.

There are no waiting periods for gun sales.

There is no registration of handguns or long guns.

Vermont state law allows the ownership of machine guns (although suppressors are not allowed.)

Colorado has CCW that are "shall issue" rather than "may issue" They also allow machine guns and carry of a loaded pistol in your vehicle for self defense. They also allow a home owner to shoot an intruder even if he is in the yard. And no limit on how many guns you can own or carry or buy. The exceptions are Denver and Boulder that seem to think that the State laws do not apply to them. They have been fighting the good gun laws in court and losing but they don't give up. After all it is not their money they are using to pay the lawyers.

Alaska and Vermont are on the top of the list. You can own all types of NFA weapons and you don't even need a permit to carry concealed. There are no other restrictions on handguns or "assault rifles."

Arkansas has a lot of gun freedoms also.

Think I'd like to see things in Vermont from some of the other answers you have gotten.

Illinois is very strict also.
