Can someone give me a brief history of the Immigration Reform that failed to pass June 28 of this year or tell where I can find it? I've been researching a bit and relevant articles from a year ago pop up. How long has this version of the bill been in consideration? Thanks!

There seems to be more than one immigration reform bill. What are the differences between these and why are there more than one?

Well some boneheads got together and they wrote a bill that said we will have border security,(but not really), and we would give amnesty to all the illegals after a 24 hour check (but they would already be legal) and they could get citizenship if they leave and came back (why bother they were already legal). Then they called us racist because we saw though there load of dung. It was in the congress and the name was s.1639. Also see s.1348.

The bill's sole sponsor interior the Senate became Majority chief Harry Reid, nevertheless it became crafted in many circumstances as a effect of efforts with the aid of Senators Kennedy, McCain and Kyl, alongside with Senator Lindsey Graham, and enter from President George W. Bush, who strongly supported the bill.

It was mostly a rehash of the 1986 amnesty, with triggers this time, but no funding
