Simply look at your camera as a 'drive'. Then download the files to a folder you would like.

RAW requires a viewer for WIndows to open it. Microsoft has a free viewer.

But for the optimum RAW pics, you need to tweak them wil a RAW editor, like Photoshop. Once you are done, then convert them to TIFF or JPG.

There are free classes at local adult ed classed that go through this.

Well
A good graphic editor program is GIMP. It works like photshop but it's free. Download it here: http://j.mp/1zbmBdA
It's a very simple and nice software.
Have a nice day

You probably have to have the expensive photoshop software or the software that came with the camera (I have the oly software but really haven't had the time to work with it).

I can't get my pc to open the tiff files.

If you purchase the Nikon software - approx. $100 you can download and have many options to change/enhance the picture attributes
