That's outstanding! It looks like we've got them surrounded!

I forgot thet my Aunt was married to a Campbell/MacDougal from the Isle of Man, strange fellow, he was afraid of the Sea, and lived on an Island.

This is all true, it's too silly to make up!

How do these surnames of rather recent direct ancestors sound for being Scots Clansmen?

Rankin
Thompson
Johnston

And more distant surnames date back generations in direct ancestry:

Dickson
Caldwell
McDowell
Meek
Boyd
Marshall

plus, I am sure a number of other unknown lines of Scottish ancestry lost in the sands of time.

And, once I was shocked upon seeing my orthopedic doctor after a sports injury, the first question out of his mouth was because of the type of injury, the orthopedic surgeon asked if I was of Scottish ancestry. I was somewhat amazed that a specific sports injury could be related to heredity going back to some of my roots which hail from Scotland.

What is the old joke, how to you tell the difference between someone in Ireland back in the day who is a native of Ireland and someone who is Scotch-Irish? The person who is Scotch-Irish owns a boat.

...well, I guess you had to be there in County Derry, Ireland back in the old days.

Well, I guess I have a lot of Scottish blood while being a Heinz 57 American.

My grandmother was mostly Scottish, a Boyd by maiden name... we also go back to the Stewarts and others. Four known castle connections.
