I think police deserve a lot more thanks than they actually get. Saying thank you isn't brown nosing, it's showing support for what the people working in law enforcement do to protect us while putting themselves at risk on the job...

You don't "brown nose" when thanking those who have dedicated their careers to protect and serve. You have added your own dedication to the nation by serving as a member of the armed forces in a conflict that became the first unpopular war. From one 'Nam vet to another, thank you for your service to our country, as well to the other vets in this Y/A community. Semper Fi.

Nothing is wrong with that. in fact im glad you are doing it b/c more ppl could b more grateful instead of always complaining how the officers are treating them and the troops in the war. I say support them and thank them we can even DO such a thing.

Nothing wrong with it, as long as you realize that one day they may punish you, treat you very badly, and there may be nothing whatsoever you can do about it. That's their job and they're not gonna care what happens to you...They're not like the rest of us in that sense. They can take you to jail on very flimsy charges, leave you, and laugh at your pain later. Will you like that?
To you, what sounds like a joke, they may interpret as a crime. So, they're kind of hard to be around. I've come to the conclusion that they police are a very different group of people, is all..

You thank they guy who gives you a ticket? Sorry, you sound like a fool, to all of us, and to the officer. Be polite, but don't say thanks. wow.
You know laws are vague, and it's in his discretion whether or not to ticket you, right?
Here's what to do if you get pulled over:
1. Don't agree that you were breaking the law. Don't confess.
2. Be polite, and don't make any threating moves or statements.
3. Don't say thanks! (hahaha!!!)

If you say thank you after getting a ticket, then you are a moron. Even the cop would think you a moron for saying thank you. I would just end the conversation with "Good day to you".
