Sarah j , what is pregnancy, if not the creation of life?

life is not sacred it is valuable, sacred has a spiritual meaning to it, so is my life not valuable because I'm an Atheist.? is your life more valuable because you are christian? we must all value life in what ever form it shows itself. as for all the Christians out there, you seem to only seem to value the lives of others indoctrinated with your own beliefs, the bible dictates that you should! is this really enlightenment? race, colour, religion, I value them all

Human life is that which carries the seed of the "Creator".
This being the case I would call the temple of man very
"Sacred", indeed!

From a mystics perspective, I would say that "shortly" we will all find out just how sacred human life is!

Sacred implies that it has some value ascribed to it through a religious belief. In the strict sense, therefore, I cannot accept it is sacred as I do not accept the concept of a divinity. If you are speaking more colloquially, without the religious overtones, then I will agree with you, but suggest we need to find a different word.

Sacred? My life is worthless if not for my calling to assist our fellow man/woman throughout this life there would be no reason for me to remain but to answer this in a positive manner many people consider life sacred.

In Biblical Hebrew, the word “holy” conveys the thought of separateness. In worship, “holy” applies to that which is separated from common use, or held sacred.

So no human life is not SACRED, although it is special and worth preserving.

For me human existence is sacred with the aid of fact i individually have not have been given any thought the way it got here to be, the way it is going to end, nor the thank you to circulate approximately getting yet another one when I've used this one up. I shall consequently cherish what i've got have been given, on a similar time as i've got have been given it!

While in the US Army in Vietnam I learned the worth of a human life was the cost of an M-16 rifle round. Nothing more...nothing less. Sacred implies religious undertones. We are born..we live...and we die. That's it. Nothing miraculous about any of it.

Human life is sacred. After all Bible says, "We are created in the image and likeness of God." Unfortuately, with all the killings, drug abuse, etc. most folk don't consider the sacredness of life.

Is any life "sacred"? No. Humans are the only species who place such a high value on life.
