The argument for Global Warming is framed in the same manner as the argument for evolution. It you express any skepticism, you are branded a moron.
Dogmatism is not symptomatic of science. Rather, it suggests emotionalism and fanaticism.

Sometimes the questions and answers that people provide elicit that type of response. If you take a moment and flick back through some of the previous questions and answers you'll see there's a great deal of ignorance displayed by people on both sides of the argument.
There are some people who may find it difficult to accept that others don't see things the way they do, the consequence of which being that they see others who have adiffering opinion as being morons (not just in repsect of global warming but any divisive issue such as politics, religion etc).
Contrary to what = ^_^ = (above) has said it's not someting I do (I would challenge = ^_^ = to find a single answer of mine where I have called anyone a moron, cretin, fool, idiot etc).

You are right, and every time you try to prove them wrong with a website, or another source they will say that it is either not credible, or wasn't approved by the right people. In this case the liberals, so yeah there ideas like most of them are way out there. So I see what you are saying and a lot of us are having this stupid argument with them every time we get on here. So in there own minds no matter what you say you are wrong and they are right.....So what ever happened to keeping an open mind, they say we should but apparently they don't have to.......................................

Moron is such an unkind and unimaginative description,
I strongly disagree with this approach
one should respect peoples opinions ,
even if they are off the planet
to make you feel better i will give you this link which goes into detail as to why these rude people resort to this kind of reaction

Maybe they really wanted to say there are 2 choices with 4 answers .
Do nothing and your right and nothing happens.
Do nothing and your wrong and Earth becomes uninhabitable and uninhabited.
Do something and your right and chance you saved the life on earth.
Do something and be wrong and be called a fool by history.
Of these choices which is the answer, assuming you do not want to risk the earth as we know it.

I don't say that.
But it is simply true that the scientific data that shows global warming is mostly man made is overwhelming. As is the percentage of scientists who know it is mostly man made. And the skeptical arguments that are being made have long ago been refuted by the data.
If you interpret those statements as an insult, I can't help it. There's not an insult in the words themselves.
By the way this is not a liberal thing. If you think that you're.....
uninformed:
"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"
"Pat Robertson (very conservative Christian leader) 'It is getting hotter and the ice caps are melting and there is a build up of carbon dioxide in the air. We really need to do something on fossil fuels.”
Ford Motor Company CEO William Clay Ford, Jr. "I believe there is now more than enough evidence of climate change to warrant an immediate and comprehensive - but considered - response. Anyone who disagrees is, in my view, still in denial."
"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."
James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.
"Global warming is real, now, and it must be addressed."
Lee Scott, CEO, Wal-Mart Company
"Republican governors team up against global warming"
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Republican_Governors_team_up_against_Global_0716.html
"the overwhelming number of scientists now believe that there is significant human cause,'' Giuliani said, adding the debate on the existence of global warming "is almost unnecessary ... ''
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/02/13/GIULIANI.TMP
"(from Republicans for Environmental Protection) The consensus of almost all climate scientists is that global warming is already happening, that human actions are causing it, and that it will cause major problems for our planet."

Well I will not call you or anyone a moron.
I will say I think it's stupid to think we can rape the earth and it'll just keep giving an infinite amount and handle everything we throw at it.
But I guess humans are perfect, and know all the right ways to do everything, so that nothing will or could ever go wrong.

The whole global warming thing is like religion in the Dark Ages. If you challenge it with logic, then you're a heretic.

Nobody really does, just the nutters you find on Yahoo! Answers and on talk radio. And if you don't believe that, you're a moron.
