I occassionally drink american beers and god they tend to be bad. They are so incredibly weak in taste and proof. There is no bite in the flavour or anything that makes it really standout from other beers. The difference between Miller, Coors and Bud is so small its barely worth having 3 different brands.

That aside how come no one drinks anything but Lager? Here we have Stout(Guinness, Murphys, etc), Ale(Newcastle, Kilkenny), Lager (Heineken, Carlsberg, American shite) yet when i was in the states it was pretty much Miller or Bud. Sammy Adams was around in Boston but it didnt seem that popular.

No offense but american beers are awful and i dont understand why the alcohol percentage is so low. Its like 3% in the states for Bud while its 5% over here. And its impossible to get good beer on draught in the states, it just loses its head instantly so you have to drink bottles, and why go to the pub to drink from a bottle?!?!

i asked here because NASCAR fans are partial to alcohol

Jayme M are you menstrual or something? Why are you getting so defensive. I never insulted nascar fans and it is a fact that lots of beer is consumed at nascar races like it is at all sports but the average NASCAR attendance is far higher than most sports,

The barman in our local last year told us the bud we were drinking was 2.8% and we did notice that we could drink a lot more of it than at home.

You have to go micro-brew in the States to find a decent beer. Try a Shiner, Dogfish Head, St. Arnold, or Pyramid. I do have to agree with you though, many beers here don't stand up to many of the foreign brews. If your idea of American beer is Bud, Miller, or Coors, I feel your pain. Most Americans just like the cheap and cheerful stuff.

If you want a good example of a Lager, I would point you towards a Spaten.

I haven't drank a Bud since college (which was a long time ago). I don't imbibe much any more, but when I do, make mine a Fat Tire or a Rogue Dead Guy Ale.
If I must have the (ugh) regular stuff, I'll go for a Heiney.

They arent as strong as your dark beer like Guinness. Me personally I can drink Coors Light or Heineken, and some other import beers but dont care for dark beer unless Im doing a car bomb. Plus import beer prices are outrageous here. Compared to to most European brew, American is weak in taste but still good for the most part and dosent taste like a coffee bean. My personal favorite is Yuengling. They have a good dark beer too.

Also Bud Miller and Coors is 5 or 5.5 %

I'm not much of a beer drinker, really. Usually I'll only have a beer (Bud) as a chaser after my whiskey shots.

I don't drink. If I did, not only would it be illegal, but my parents would literally kill me.

I heard from a lot of people that Sam Adams is the best though (lot of drinkers at high school)

I don't know where you get 3% from. Beer, Bud and Miller is around 5.5%.
