I think so - at least indirectly. Many anti-depressants also serve as anti-anxiety meds and vice-versa. Depression and anxiety are often related.

If you have anxiety and, thus, worry occupies your thoughts, then treatment will help you focus on something more of your choosing. If you are depressed and are thinking depressed or depressing thoughts that distract you, then treatment will help. Treatment also helps with motivation, which I usually need to be able to concentrate.

There is a strong connection between the mind and the emotions. While psychotropic meds like celexa, prozac, and the countless others are prescribed for reasons related to emotions, they ultimately effect the mind and its abilities like focusing.

Of course, there are many variables to the trial-and-error process of meds. Different people react differently to different meds. Some good, some bad, some nothing at all.

The inability to concentrate is one of the many symptoms of depression.

Antidepressants like Prozac are used to treat symptoms of depression. I'm not sure they would be prescribed to target that one symptom alone.
