I have to agree with the rest here. There are not enough people who will take in "special needs" pets. We've gotten some rudeness from other rescues that thought our "special" dogs should just be put out of their misery??
Deafness and blindness do not have to be a bad thing. These dogs can still be loving. The other senses become heightened to compensate.
Consider using them to work with kids about disabilities and being kind. Or work with deaf kids at a school. Make this a very positive effort for all!!

Absolutely!! I think that is so great. You can communicate with a deaf dog like a dog that can hear. Only mostly visually. Those people who say they wouldn't get a deaf dog, are probably the same people who think deaf people are mentally challenged. Remember dogs are trained to help the deaf get thru life, why should it be any different with you for them?

I would have a deaf dog in a heartbeat, and I wouldnt think twice about it! I think you are doing a great thing rescuing them! We all need love no matter what the disability may be! Congrats to you, its nice to know we have people out there like you! Can you email me any info so I can to adopt or rescue a hearing impaired dog too? I have 2 sweet dogs already and 2 cats that love dogs, we would all be happy to have a new addition to the household

Absolutely! Just because a dog is deaf doesn't mean he's bad. Deaf dogs are great companions, too. It's surprising how well they get around, even though they can't hear. I think you're doing a great thing.

Yes and you should get lots of credit ! lots of people wouldn't want a dog if they are deaf. And you are giving them a good home or they would stay at the Humane Society and if they are there for a long time they will be euthanized ( put to sleep )

Nothing wrong with a deaf dog. I've had several that were both deaf and blind. They get along just fine. My last rescued dog was deaf and blind. You have to realize that and deaf and blind dog does not know that it is not supposed to be deaf and blind so it acts fine.

Deaf dogs are great dogs. Dogs use their sense of smell more than any of the other senses anyway. Yes, you are doing a great thing for them.
