Do NOT use pee pads. This teaches your dog that it is ok to go in the house and confuses him.

Always keep him in the same room as you so you can keep an eye on him. If he wanders too much get a leash and tie him near you so you can watch. As soon as he starts to go tell him no no no no and run him outside. When you goes outside praise him. AS he becomes more trustable you can let him have 2 rooms at a time and eventually you won't need to watch him at all.

If you can't watch him or are gone put him in a crate. Most dogs will not go where they sleep. This will also set your dog up for success. Since he can't go in the house because he is in a crate or being watched and corrected then he won't have a chance to get away with and think, well, if mommy's not home I can pee on the carpet! and it will take much longer to re-train the more often he goes.

Do not leave his water or food out. After he eats or drinks find out how long it will take for him to have to go. Then get him outside when he'll need to go and reward him for going potty outside.

Take him out before bed and before going in his crate, and don't give him food or water 2 hours before bed or being in a crate for a few hours.

Good luck!

You need to crate train her. Keep her in the crate when you are not watching her or gate her into a room where there is only tile for easy clean up. Your carpet will be ruined if you keep letting her run around. Keep the doors closed to areas you dont want her to be in. You can put newspaper down also. Take her outside 15 minutes after feeding her and keep her outside until she goes. If she does not go in a reasonable amount of time, put her in the crate and try again in about 30 minutes. This should help.

You can't "make her stop" peeing in the house. But you can train her to go outside. Take her out regularly and praise her when she goes. Don't punish her unless you catch her in the act inside and only verbally. a few harsh words will make an impression. Get the carpet in your room cleaned so she won't be attracted to the same place. Patience and attention and you'll solve the problem.

Crate train her. It is the best way to potty train a dog. Get a crate that's small for her size, and when you're asleep or not home, put her in it. She will not go potty in it and will hold it as long as she can. Then, when you get home, take her outside immediately. When she goes potty, give her a treat and praise her. Make a big deal out of it. Keep doing this, and take her out often while you are home. Still give her the treat if you just take her out but she wasn't just in her crate. She'll catch on quick.

You need to catch her in the act. When she's doing the deed, do something to make her stop (loud noises work well; loud clap, loud 'NO!', shaker can). If she's light enough, you can then pick her up and take her outside to finish her business, where you should praise her for relieving herself. I'm not sure what to do if she's too heavy to pick up--you'd need to get her outside immediately though so she can relieve herself and praise her. It's potty training, will take some time, consistency and patience. Just remember that punishing her after the fact won't do you any good, it must be in the moment or she won't know why she's being yelled at/punished.

Pee pee goes outside.
So you buy a crate and you put her in at night.. She'll need to go out before you got to bed, and because she is 8 weeks old, she'll likely need to go out again at approx 2AM and then likely by 6AM.
IMMEDIATELY when you let her out, take her outside.. I do not lead puppies from the crate to the door, I either have the crate by the door and lead them out, or I pick them up and carry them to the door. The less chance they get to pee on the carpet, the better off you are.. There is something very wonderful about peeing on carpet I believe.. when you are a puppy :)

I take them out approx every 1/2 hour. No matter what they are doing.. If they are eating, playing, sleeping etc.. I take them out to pee. I have a bell tied to the door that I ring when I open the door.. Letting them know that the ringing of the bell will open the door..

When they go out, you go out with them.. Then you are standing right there and KNOW that they peed, and you can praise them. Praise is what is going to get them housetrained.

When you are inside you watch them like a hawk. If she starts to pee.. You say NO. Peepee OUTSIDE... You pick her up and you take her outside.. Give her a minute to recoup from the surprise and you let her finish peeing and then you Praise her.

If you can't watch her, you crate her.. When you go away, you crate her.. You don't put any paper or anything in the crate. You don't want her thinking that it's okay to go in the crate.. Just like you don't want her thinking it's okay to go in the big crate.. the house.

When you are outside and watering the garden and you see her pee.. Tell her Good girl go pee pee.. Every chance you can have to tell her she is good for peeing outside is a point toward being housetrained..

If I have a dog that isn't getting it.. I put their water dish outside.. Puppies find it much easier to tell you that they want a drink of water, than they do to tell you that they have to pee.. If you are going out for a drink of water.. you might just as well pee while you are out there..

I trained my beagle mix by using the method of crate-training and by putting potty papers where he usually went.

You should never rub their nose in the mess or spank them. They will not know why you are suddenly being mean to them, this doesn't accomplish anything.

I suggest checking out this website, which will give you more information and advice about housebreaking.

I heard bitter green apple spray works great.
You spray where they usually pee. You can buy it at Petco or any petstore.
I truely believe that Crate training is cruel for any dog of any size. My freind tried it w/their dog and it was painful to try and ignore the dogs yelps and cries. And...it didn't work.
She didn't like to ride in their car or be confined to a small space after they tried it.

She should go out every hour. But in a book, they said prasie her everytime she pees outside, and don't say anything when she pees inside. Though, going out every hour to the yard or something is a good idea.

That's the same as my cat she always pee in my basement, and my parents couldn't take it anymore so they had to get rid of her, and put her in another nice home. Sorry if this is scaring you, but sometimes that's the way it works.
