it could drop.
but, it might not.

i had a bouvier when i was younger and his second testicle never dropped, so we finally got him neutered and the vet had to do another procedure to find the testicle and remove it as well.

First of all no one should be selling puppies under 8 weeks of age. As far is the vet only feeling one testicle its normal in young puppies , later they both should drop.

Aw, hun he is so young!! It is way to early to worry or panic over your boy being Cryptorchid (only one descended testicle). If the testicle doesn't drop by 7 months of age, then it will never drop. Give him until then :)

Cryptorchid or not, he should be neutered around 7 months of age.

Enjoy your pup!!

Well he is only 6 weeks old.. You bought him from a byber.. I wouldn't worry about it til you are ready to neuter him.. Then if the 2nd hasn't descended yet, you'll need the vet to go looking for it.. The fact is you got him from someone who allows ( GRRRR) their puppies to leave at a mere 6 weeks of age.. He isn't a quality dog, he isn't worthy of breeding.. He has no need for his testicles..

Probably. Makes don't get neutered until they are 6 months old so you still have a ways to go. We waited until our boy was 9 - 10 months old. It just means the Vet has to fish a little to get it when he neuters him.

You will have to wait and see. You can ask the vet. My neighbors dog only had one testicle and still got my dog pregnant so dont believe that just because he only has one that he is infertile. They still produce sperm in the one testicle.

My lab/golden mix, Zeus, had the same problem. His didn't drop, so we neutered him (we would have anyways). We were told it would be better for him if it was taken out. We called him the "one nut wonder" for a while lol. But it may drop, it may not. Just wait and see.

It most likely will....but you should never buy a puppy less than 8 wks old, dogs will still be able to mate with only one

I think the other one will drop.

But if they don't he probably wont be able to mate.

possible, but he could well retain it, you will have to get him fixed if he does or it can result in testicular cancer.
