Nowadays Zestee, people will not always wear black...
I've attended funerals, where the nearest relative to the deceased has stated that 'their loved one' didn't like dark colours, so please wear something bright, after all we are celebrating the life of that person. It is not disrespectful, as long as you are smart, your presence says it all...

The rules on what to wear to a funeral have changed. As long as it's fairly conservative and not too attention-getting (red would be a bad color, I'd think!), you should be fine. At the last couple funerals I've gone to, I've just worn a black and white skirt with a white shirt. Nobody wore all black to either one - I think people are getting away from the idea that you're just there to mourn; instead, celebrate the person's life. You can always ask a friend or family member to look at what you've picked out if you're unsure. Just make sure it's something you're comfortable in and it's not something that will draw all the attention to you.

You will be fine - just dress conservative in darker colors if possible. I don't think it is necessary you go out and buy a new outfit. If you were part of the immediate family it might be different, but for other you are there to show respect to the departed person not make a fashion statement.

That's right, but only try not to dress like going to a picnic to the park in spring.
Even brown ,grays, navy blues, white blouse, dark top, etc you know, a discrete colors or combinations.
Sorry for this loss.

A modest dress is fine, just don't wear something "fancy" or sparkley. The deceased can't see you! Usually people go away from black, anyway.

If it's a business-type dress, it should be okay. If you have something in a dark color--dark gray, navy, brown--you could also wear that.
