I have seen a lot of questions on here about the "coyotes" that cross people. Here is the deal: There are 2 types. The first type you pay in advance and you usually get brought in on a semi-truck, or in a boat or something similar.

The other group of "coyotes" are more like kidnappers. They take people that are trying to cross illegally at gun point and taking everything they have and holding them "ransom". They rape and beat them, threaten to kill them if they don't come up with x money. I have heard of them taking people out to the desert and the victim never come back.
The people that are crossing are nearly always "sponsored' by friends, family members, or businesses. Coyotes get 1/2 of their fee when the leave, the other 1/2 when they arrive with their passenger.

The "planned" coyote costs 2-3 K. The "ransom" coyote tries to assess how much you are worth. Usually charges a lot more.

Do you agree that we should "throw the book" at the coyotes for risking peoples live

No, we shouldn't throw the book at the coyotes; rather, they should be taken out into the desert and shot.

What kind of person inflicts such abuse on their fellow citizens, espeically ones who are probably coming to the United States to get away from rampant criminal activity occurring in Mexico?

Every few months, the state police will find a truck that has been abandoned at a truck stop here in Texas. The people in the back are either starving, dehydrated, both, or dead.

there are criminals who have decided that it is now more lucrative to smuggle people than drugs. they care nothing about the people, they are just a product to them.

i saw on 'free speech' TV, how so many bodies are found in the desert weekly. i saw the mounds of trash and debris left by those crossing and how many who try to cross are never heard from again. this is so tragic....

when you shake hands with the devil, why would you expect humane treatment. one has to know the danger and the possible consequences and should you do make it, you become victims again because they can prey on you at anytime.

the documentary told that the new thing now is to keep the girls and women as assets in the sex-slave trade. this is a growing problem and will only get larger.

NO ONE wins by being an illegal. breaking the law has consequences for everyone.

Coyotes can be pretty pushy and are tough about driving prices up and collecting their fee, but the ones you refer to are known as "Bandits" These are people who pose as coyotes, and trawl the bars and the border area for "customers" whom they rob and abandon less than a mile into the US. They give coyotes a bad name.

There is a very famous Bandit Squad in the Border Patrol. These plainclothes Hispanic officers pose as illegals and when the "Ratas" or "banditos" try to rob or terrorize the group, they arrest them. There is almost a 100% conviction ratio among the robbers who survive (a very high percentage are killed in the initial skirmish).

Here is a response I made about a month ago in answer to someone that was upset because they had a "friend" that was missing after attempting to cross the border illegally.

If I were in your shoes, I would tell your friend to cross borders legally, rather than risking their lives to break the law.

You say he "follows the laws" If he did, you would not be worried about him now would you??

How many thousands of kids do you think lost their parents, or even parents that lost their children because of this sort of "following the law"??

I am sure you will get advice from people on here on how to find them, I am giving you life saving advice to give them that IF THEY SURVIVE this, to not do it again.

I agree with blondie. Coyotes are despicable and care nothing about the people they bring here. They would as soon as leave them dead as long as they get their money.

If I only help save the life of one person, this post was worth it. Now who is going to give me a thumbs down??

I am anti-illegal, but I don't want to see people die needlessly.

Yes we should throw the book at them. Not only are they taking advantage of illegal aliens, they are also committing an illegal act that can cost American lives dearly. I'm sure there are a few "nice" guys out there, but the law is law...and it has to be obeyed and enforced.

ABSOLUTELY! These guys are the lowest of the low, exploiting people's misfortune and taking advantage of their charges. While I have absolutely NO love for illegals whatsoever, the coyotes need to be extermintated like their namesakes were until recent years.

Even the illegals who have suffered at their hands will agree with me on this one.

I totally agree, yesterday something happen in arizona the coyotes had kidnapped 21 inmigrants, and held them even naked and only fed them once a day, that's why I have to add something all the time, I DO HAVE BIG RESPECT AND ADMIRATION FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT RISK EVERYTHING AND CROSS THE BORDER TO FULLFILL THEIR DREAMS, and most of all TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR FAMILY AND I DONT KNOW HOW A LOT OF PEOPLE JUST DISS THEM, DISRESPECT, AND MINIMIZE THEIR EFFORTS.

I agree that we should arrest and deport ALL illegals.

I agree that we should arrest and punish any one on US soil who rapes, beats, or robs any one else on US soil.

But if these wanna be US illegal immigrants and their coyotes are on Mexican soil--it's a Mexican problem to deal with, not a US one.

The book should be thrown at all those that bring illegals into this country, as well as those that come in by themselves.
