Simple.

Mike Tyson because he was fast with his hands as well as his feet. Made for a more illusive speed that most never seen coming.

Don't get me wrong Dokes was a hell of a fast puncher as well but he lacked general movement to accommodate that speed into good use.

Just ask Donovan "Razor" Ruddock who was faster, he wont lie to you he knocked Dokes clean out for like 9 minutes. He stated after the fight that Dokes was fast but he wasn't powerful he knew Dokes couldn't hurt him.

Later after fighting Mike Tyson he stated after the fight that Mike was too fast and never gave him room to breath. Also that he hit so hard and that made his speed more incredible.

If Mike and Dokes had fought at fresh ages it would have been a speed blur though Mike would knock Dokes out early still a fast fight.

Mike Tyson is faster in my opinion he utilized speed with hands and feet simultaneously never let his victims breath!

Everyone knows what I am talking about.

Dokes had faster hand speed but most of his punches were arm punches. Tyson was quite fast as well but just a little bit slower than Dokes. The difference between the two was that Tyson always swung for the fences. He put EVERYTHING into his most of his shots, very few shots were just arm punches whereas Dokes probably only threw power shots 30% of the time.

I think Tyson was faster. As hard as he could hit, his speed was underrated. Dokes was fast too, but I don't think he had the power to knock you out with either hand like Tyson did. Tyson threw his punches at better angles than Dokes did too. Dokes would have given him a tough fight, but whether by knockout or decision, I think Tyson wins.

Pure hand speed? Maybe Dokes. But Tyson combined his superior hand speed with both power and ferocity. Most of Tysons fights were a lot faster!

Dokes was faster, and could throw a combination faster than Tyson. Tyson was very fast getting one shot home-that was usually all he needed.

Michael Dokes would have totally dominated Mike Tyson. Speed, heart, technical skill, lateral movement, quickness and most definitely character, Dokes was superior to Tyson in almost every aspect of comparison. Tyson had a slight edge in power, but Dokes's level of competition was vastly superior to the stiffs they lined up of Tyson to knock over.

I think Dokes would have easily out boxed Mike Tyson, and KOed Tyson if Mike wouldn't have quit on his stool first.

Dokes was definitely faster, but Tyson had the unique ability to attack from off-angles with power to compliment his granite chin. Tyson's constant activity made him seem faster than he really was.

dokes. Tyson had a shorter reach so his punches were gonna seem faster because he had less to extend
