I have a friend (sometimes lover) with leukaemia, who was told by his Dr, 2 years before I met him, that he would be lucky if he saw the year out.

He has another underlying medical problem and the treatments for the 2 conditions counteract each other, so it is a fine balancing act.

He still works, and lives life to the full, and was my inspiration when I was diagnosed with cancer.

I remember him celebrating seeing his twins graduate from primary school in 2001, at this stage it looks like he will see them graduate from secondary school later this year!

Help your friend to live her life to the full, for whatever time she has left.

Remember, any one of us could be killed in a car accident tomorrow, she has just had advance warning thatfor her death will be sooner rather than later.

Yes, if it is at the degenerative stage. But not all people with leukemia died in a short period of time like 3 months. Some have recovered but only a few percentage.

yes, it's possible. But doctors are often reluctant to give specific number of months that a person can expect to live, since it's so subjective.
