When is it coming out? Will it get better gas mileage? They say it'll get 100mpg.

The prius is a good idea but somewhat of a joke.
Financially you'll do better with a civic or corolla. Environmentally the production of the batteries is far worse than the slightly higher emissions of the aforementioned cars.
But the "I'm better than you" factor is significantly higher.

The updated Prius is coming out in 2009. The 2008 will be basically the same as 2007 except there will be a cheaper base model with less options than currently. The 2008 is coming out when other 2008s are but the 2009 will be later in the season.

Who says? They have been re-rated downward by the new standards. Most people get in the upper 40's around town and a little less on the highway.
