I'm almost 24 weeks pregnant and it seems like my baby isn't moving as much as she was the past few weeks...should I be worried or is this normal?

Help please!

If your worried call your dr to be safe but I am sure you are fine. It is very normal. Dr. don't usually make you start kick counts until about 28 weeks. At 24 weeks the baby is still very inconsistent with his/her movement. The baby has lazy days just like us.

Try drinking oj or some juice with sugar and lay down for a half hour or so. If you don't feel the baby move call your dr to just be on the safe side.

I have had 2 NST done bc I also hadn't felt the baby move for a several hours but that was at 33 and 37 weeks. Everything was fine, she was just being a lazy!! ;-)

At that age the baby can be just moved into a different position were you cant feel him/her. But i'd talk to your DR if you are concerned. I would anyways just so your not worried about it and nothing is wrong, which adds more stress on to you and the baby. Which isnt healthy either. Remember the dr is paid for you to call and ask ?'s :P So dont be afraid too! :)

If you notice that your baby hasn't moved in a while, try drinking something really sweet and cold, like orange juice. But at 24 weeks, it's hard to know if you should worry because the baby is somewhat inconsistant with her movements. But I know that the OJ worked for me. I would drink that and almost immediately, she would start to kick.

It is totally normal. The baby isnt moving as much because he/she is growing and running out of room. There shouldnt be anything to worry about, but I would make it a point to mention it to your dr. at your next appointment. You should be perfectly fine. Believe it or not, as a baby grows, there becomes less room in there to move around, so they dont move as much, and they sleep a lot too. A baby in the belly is the same as one out. Awake to eat, then sleep the rest of the time. Dont worry, things will be fine!

At 24 weeks, you typically do NOT feel a lot of movement. Perhaps your baby has got herself into a position where you just aren't feeling the kicks, like facing your back or into the placenta. Eat or drink something ice cold and see if you feel her in the next half hour.

Has your doctor told you that you need to keep track of fetal movements ?
If so, then you should go in for a NST.. non stress test...

But every fetus is different.. some move alot.. and then dont move much for a few days...

You need to be calling your doctor about this.. not posting this on yahoo for answers. Because if you have a slight concern about the health of your baby, you need to call the professional..

Some babies are more energetic than others and maybe her routine is to be awake when you are asleep!

If you are concerned go see your doctor, they can give you the peace of mind you need
