Well naturally being a Gordon fan there hasn't been a good experience. You probably remember me telling you about the guy with the Gordon cutout wearing a diaper and he was chasing me down saying all of these homosexual comments and it was completely pathetic. Sitting in my seats was no different. They booed Gordon when he came out so naturally I booed Earnhardt when he came out and well that really pissed everyone off and this guy turned around and started swearing at me and told me if I booed him again he'd "kick my a**" and so I told him "well the score is 4 to 0, talk $hi* when your driver has actually done something!" That really torqued him off and everytime Gordon came around the the start finish line the guy flipped him off and booed him. Wow, that really hurt my feelings lol. He was old enough to be my dad, but acted like he was young enough to be sucking on his thumb still. There has never been a good experience at a race with the people I've sat by.

It's always a good time, no matter who is cheering for which driver. Since my wife and I will NEVER pick the same one, that is a good thing, too. Seven of us in the family went together last year and all had on different driver apparel.
I sat next to the same people four consecutive years at Indianapolis. We used the prerace time to catch up on families and the like.

Well this past spring at Talladega I (a Joe Gibbs Racing fan) was surrounded by some fans of a driver who did not win,and their cans of "adult sodas"ended up on the speedway.
Now as for good fans there was a group from Virginia that were pulling for Jeff Burton and Elliot Sadler that had enough enthusiasm for these drivers it was a pleasure to sit next to them.

I believe that the last count was 11 tracks I have been to, including Pocono this last weekend. Everyone seems to cheer and/or boo at the tracks. I have never seen any fights break out or bad behavior. It is just expected that the people next to you probably don't like the same driver as you do and leave it at that. There is more rude behavior by non-Nascar fans in this forum than the actual fans at the track show.

I went to the Coca Cola 600 in May 06. Everyone around us was pretty cool. Except the girl that was sitting next to us. (I'm a Gordon fan and my hubby is a Jr. fan) She was a Johnson fan and she hated Jr. I could tell by the end of the race he was getting a tad annoyed with her..She was very opinionated about the fact that she hated Jr..In fact, she booed him every SINGLE lap of the race. Hubby and I traded seats 1/3 of the way through the race so he didn't have to hear her and then after that it was all good. She was even very polite to hubby after the race.

Yes the other fans are great. You may not agree about your driver, but you do share the love of racin. I am a Stewart fan and I sat in the middle of a LARGE group of Jeff Gordon fans and we messed with each other, but it was all in good fun. Last time I went to Talladega the guy sitting next to me left when I showed up with my Stewart stuff on, he was kidding and by the end of the race we were having a great time.
I even felt welcome in the Dupont hospitality tent when I was dressed head to toe Stewart and my wife was in her Martin shirt.

Well since I am a Gordon fan I was disappointed at times because I saw people wearing shirts that were bashing Jeff and when Jeff came around on the truck everybody around me booed him, but the rest of the experience is a ton of fun!

most everybody i sit next to is a junior fan I dont know why he is an average driver H hasnt won 20 races yet and if I am not mistaken Stewart has more wins and I know he has more cups . They get angry and cuss if Junior wrecks blame it on everybody but junior. Good thing he is not like most of his fans.

The only race (so far) I have been to was Las Vegas in March (just bought tickets for next year). We were all rooting for different drivers but got along famously. Made a couple of friends from here (Vegas) and we still get together.
Great way to meet cool people.

I'm a 24 fan and went to Talladega 2 years ago. And, as you probably know, it was a sea of red shirts and rednecks. For the most part people were all there to have fun and it was a positive experience until 24 won the race and his car was pelted with beer cans. But no one messed with me.
