How can we fight global warming and look for alternative gas when corn gas still needs gasoline to work? Are we going about it the wrong way? With all the mordern technology we could drill for oil and gas with out mess around with the environment. Which we should do because it would be very stupid of us to give the people we are fight money for gas to live and therefore giving them money in which to find a ways and means to fight us. So are we biting the hand that feeds us.

Yes, you're right, the ethanol solution is a complete dead end. You've thought that one through.
What we will have to do, dearie, is just learn to survive with a lot less energy consumption in the future. No matter how much more petroleum we drill for, we'll still be running out faster than we can find it and drill it.
Three sources of energy that we can tap a lot more are wind, water, and nuclear. Eventually people will figure that out.

Well you have to think of it this way they only want to replace about 10% or so of the gasoline, plus it also takes gas to make gas so any little bit helps so no I don't think it is making things worse agreed its not drastically making things better, but it is buying us more time to look for other alternative sources...........

it only needs gasoline using slightly modified engine design, with more modification an automobile can run off E100. Also, these engines must be designed to run on both gasoline and E85, because E85 is not available in most areas.
