im looking to buy a car before the end of my senior year i prefer a decent car years between 80's and 90's for under a grand with very limited amounts of miles on it

Try the usual places for bargains -- for sale signs in car windows, local bulletin boards, and http://craigslist.com

If this is your first car purchase, I would recommend bringing along a friend who is knowledgable about cars and can give it a decent inspection, but anything that cheap is going to have problems, it's just a question of how many and how serious. If you're lucky you can find something that's mechanically sound and just has cosmetic issues.

Also remember to budget for insurance, maintenance, and any repairs that might come up.

I can't think of any place in this country that you can find a "decent" car for under $1,000. If you do happen to find that place, would you let the rest of the world know? On second thought, could you just let me know?
