how do i check my audio reciever for problems?

hi guys, i just bought a yamaha rp-u200 from a car boot sale. the seller said it doesnt work and i found that it does not power on. i do i fix this, myself.

what do i do to check it for causes?.

If you're lucky, it's just blown an internal fuse. Simple, quick fix.

If you are unlucky, it will have blown a capacitor, a diode or burnt out a PCB track. Unless you are skilled at electronic repair, you won't even be able to tell what's wrong.
