Different beliefs occur when a person or group of people don't want to believe a certain thing. A good example of this is to look at the different christian churches. The catholics believe in saints, baptists don't, lutherans don't believe that the eucharist is converted into the body and blood of Jesus. Judaism is similar to christianity, however jewish believers deny the belief that Jesus was the Messiah. Judaism believes that the Messiah has yet to come a first time. As for Muslims, they follow similar terms as christians, however they believe Mohammad was sent by God, not Jesus.

If you look at the foundations of all the early religions you'll find that they are almost identical, thus there must have been some starting point. It is in the minor details that people have become separated.

Thanks for asking such a question and not just closing your mind. So often people use the question that you asked as their proof that God cannot exist without taking the time to look at the roots of religions. Hopefully I was ale to clear things up for you and if you ever want to talk about it, or if you have any questions regarding anything similar, feel free to drop me a line at my email, Joseph_poma@yahoo.com.

I'm no reigion buff, I probably won't be able to answer all of your questions, but I'm sure I can help with anything else.

Peace and God Bless!
Joe

Also one last thing, a lot of times we find ourselves asking the questions, how can God exist..however we should also take the time to ask the questions How can God NOT exist?...

Think about it, the earth and everything in it, the stars and the skies, and humans. Everything is created..but from what? Evolutionists talk about the big bang theory but they always fail to address the issue about what initiated the big bang. If two small atoms did collide to create everything...then were did those two atoms come from? Get it? Like I said feel free to drop me a line if you wanna talk! :)

If God isn't real then why are there so many different religions saying different things?

Most people believe that there is a God. Most of those people Fall into three groups Jews Christians and Muslims. These three religions are all based on the God Of Abraham. Who is considered the father of The Jews (through Isaac)and of the Muslims (through Ishmael).
God decided a long time ago to let us separate ourselves from him if we wished to do so. So now we get a lot of different ideas on how to worship Him.
Your best bet is to read the Bible and Pray to see where God wants You.

Well - if god is real and if he allows so many religions and if there does not seem to be a preference for any particular religion (as far as health, happiness, prosperity and the like)

then the obviously conclusion is that religion is a man-made artifact and god doesn't care about it anymore than he cares about the difference between Country Music and Classical Music.

Which, if god did exist, would explain a whole lot to me.

1. Science can never disprove God. That cannot be proved false. Knowledge will always lead you to greater understanding. Greater understanding will not lead you away from truth.

2. True Christianity is not supposed to be belief in God. It is to know God.

Anyone can doubt the Bible, you'll be forgiven. Anyone can doubt the Father and the Son, you'll be forgiven. The only eternal sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and will never be forgiven.

How is that possible? How do you seperate the Holy Spirit from the Father and the Son? What is the Holy Spirit? Where is the Holy Spirit? Why can't God forgive you that?

Decoding the eternal sin is the key to understanding and accepting the Bible. It is the basis for all that Jesus taught and the proof that Jesus lived and it is the key God's understanding.

Once you know God you don't question God. When you know God you will recognise who has God from those that merely believe. You will know because you will know who blashemes the Holy Spirit. Once you know our omnipresent God you will see more parallels in than differences in all of God's children.

All it takes is knowing God and letting His will work through you.
The truth will set you free.

There was only one God and religion. As people populated the earth, some changed from worshiping the way God wanted and they took on for themselves how to worship. This then branched off with different people changing the aspects and beliefs of how they should worship forming the different religions.

When you get Saved, only you (a spirit) gets Recreated.
Your Soul dosen't get Recreated.
Your Body will be Recreated at a Later Time.

Your Soul needs to be Renewed to the Word of GOD After you get Born-Again, if you do not start Renewing your Soul with TRUTH, you could get Stuck, as a Child of GOD, in a RELIGION.

Getting your spirit Recreated happens in the Spiritual Realm and is REALITY.

Renewing your Soul happens in the Mental Realm.

You can program your Soul with ANYTHING--befor or after you are Saved.

If the devils cannot detour your getting Saved, then After you are Saved, they will try to get you into Religious Stuff, so you won't Learn how to Use your Faith or Walk in Holiness--cause that is what can Really hurt and tear down satans plans Against All Human Beings.

Since God is such a gracious God, he gives us the choice to choose who we want and how to live our own lives. However, there will be penalties and consequences if we do not choose God. Think about it, God has sent his only, begotten son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die on the cross to pay for the wages of sin (death). So by this, whoevers calls upon him and chooses to accept him, will have salvation and eternal life with him in heaven. All of those different religions saying different things, have a life infested with sin and have not yet choosen or accepted God's free gift of salvation.

People make their own religion to reflect their own personalities. The thing is, all people know deep down that there is something greater. Religion is trying to get closer to god by doing things. Christianity is different, it is what God did for us.

God is real. Some people don't believe it. Some people believe in a different God than I do.

People will always have different opinions on everything; it's not just religion.

Hello Dear;

Well, all of this religions where NOT created by God and they contradict themselves because they want followers to believe that theirs is the "Real Thing" and if you don't follow them you'll go to heal, but that is BS.

God is within you, he is not at church or in a Bible; God is a being. Just like you have family and friends who you spend time with to show them you care and like being with them, the same thing goes with God; there is not right or wrong place as long as you give him time and talk to him just because, and not only when you need or want something. He is a friend and you should treat him like one by dedicating a part of your day to him; just talk to him and he'll listen. Don't listen to phycos or religious fanatics because they'll tell you otherwise; listen to your heart and when you get close enough to God he'll find ways to talk to you to show you the way or the answer you are searching for.

Some people think that if they pray for something and it doesn't happen is because God doesn't listen, but what they don't realize is that we don't always want what is best for us, and other times life has to take is course.

I hope this helps...Best of luck and God Bless!!!

Gaby
