Fish feed early in the morning, so your chances of catching something are better in the morning.

awesome question but I catch more fish later in the evening because I am wayyy to lazy to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to get to a good fishing spot...I'll tell you right now trout hit 10times better in the morning for many reasons (water temperature is usually coolest then) nothing noisy to bother them and other factors. I catch my biggest bass in the late evening like at around 6 pm thats the best for me here in dirty Jersey.

I have found that very early morning, and evenings are the best time to catch fish.

I have had good luck both ways. I prefer to fish mornings just because it's cooler and there are generally fewer mosquitos, but I have started consulting the Fishing Forecast at Weather.com. It uses the Solar and lunar tables to predict feeding patterns and identify the best time to fish. Check it out, it is pretty cool.

if you are freshwater fishing it is best to go at dusk. the bugs are out and the game fish are feeding on them. all you need to do is drop a line into where there schooling with a floatable bait and your telling a fishing story. the only time morning is better is when the temperature gets extreemly hot and the water temp is up, the fish head to deeper water it is then better to fish early morning when the water is at its coolest point.

I catch most fish in low light conditions. My favorite is night time because everything on the end of your line feels like Moby Dick because your primary sense , sight , is limited and you have to rely on the other senses.

I always go at night as the pier I fish has lights. The lights attract small bait fish.that then bring blues trout and rockfish.also flounder gigging is done at night.I guess it depends on conditions and wheather or not you wake up at night

Not sure about freshwater fishing, but in the mighty Atlantic Ocean, it makes no difference. It's when they show up, that's when they bite.
