Call their toll free number and ask for a correct card.

You will have problems if you try to rent a car or buy something on-line from some web sites.

Besides, you are not building a credit history to improve your credit score. It confuses the credit bureaus and they ignore your payment history which is a big part of your score.

Depends on whether people are alert enough to spot the incorrect spelling. It can be problematic. Especially if you buy something on-line, where you have your name spelled correctly in the ordering info field and, when they check the credit account, the names don't match.

But, if you got a credit card from someone and your name is misspelled, call them up and request a new card with the correct spelling.

Did you fraudulently misspell the name when you applied for credit or was it an error on part of the company?
