They are police officers with special training. When they are not on a tactical call or on a training day, they are assigned to a squad and out humping calls with the rest of the troops.

So, they get paid the same as all other officers in their rank and pay grade.

Now, my agency pays them a "specialty team" bonus, but its only 100 bucks a month.

Depending on the department, they may get a bonus for being a part of the special teams.

Same as all other police officers.

Small, rural departments may be as low as eight or nine dollars an hour.

Large, urban departments may be in the area of 70,000 to 80,000 a year.
