Classic Gay bashing, Phelps is a Child abusing ********. He can't come out to his Christian minions as gay so he spews hate in anger and gets mad when you don't do the same

It's a cash cow. The anti-gay marriage crusade has taken in over $100 million over the last 3 years alone. They've just found out what Fred has known for years, hate sells. And Fred has been able to travel the country and put his family up in one of the most expensive cities in America while living extremely well.
What a hateful bunch of answers. Stop using homosexuality as a put down. Fred is not a homophobe or closet case. He's huckster and a fraud.

Probably due to the fact that their church is made up of family relatives. They have to propagate the line and the hate.
Vitamindude: How is preaching "god hates fags" during military funerals in any sense an attempt to do good? You realize that they want to follow Old Testament statutes, as in imprisonment or execution for homosexuality? That is downright evil. Watch this documentary if you have any doubts. I'm a fundamentalist, but I believe the Westboro clan go way too far.
The opposite problem is the majority of what is called "church" today, where some "christians" speak of love apart from any truth, and then it's just a lie.

Most mind control cults direct their members attention towards certain enemies, and unfortunately that's all WBC is any more. I'm sure it was a legitimate church once upon a time, but those days are gone.

I don't know about these guys but it's pretty common for homophobes to actually be closet gays. In any case I've seen their website and it'd be comical except that these guys aren't kidding. They actually seem to have a Christian church based on hate. Go figure.

Honestly, I think they're just spiteful, hate-filled people. I think Fred Phelps has started himself a little cult that centers on hate. Something about that groups always brings the word "incest" to mind for me.
I think for their disrespect of American soldiers alone, they should all rot in hell.

Fred Phelps is terribly tempted by homosexuality and rather than accept his God-given sexual orientation....he strikes out at gays to distance himself from them...and to prove to God he is acceptable.
