I don't know the answer but I wanted to thank you for serving our country. It is people such as yourself that make this country what it is.

The good thing is that you will be enduring boot camp after most of the summer's heat is over.

My son did his Navy boot camp in Florida in the Summer. He said that a lot of his classmates were carried off the field in stretchers. In fact, the heat and humidity got so high, at times, that the instructors wouldn't do the workouts outdoors. They'd go to the gym to work and train to cut down on causualties.

Congrats. Enjoy Lackland, and when you get a pass, get down to the Riverwalk.

As for the job, my dad was a security policeman before he retired from the Air Force. He is very proud of his service, and has quite a few "war stories" from it, especially when he served in Vietnam.

However, the only "plus" he ever mentioned was that he got spiffy white gloves while on gate guard duty.

You'll be meeting new people and making new friends. Learn to work together and help each other out. The Military looks for this.
Do this, and you'll get thru boot camp in no time at all.
Good luck! I'd ; like to see you in person., I 'd salute you.

I'm no expert, but I have a friend who was married to someone in AF security forces. Apparently one downside is the hours. REALLY, REALLY bad hours - they ended up divorcing because they never saw each other.
