Hi, I was considering going in to get a spray tan, but I'm really insecure about my body & don't feel all that comfortable having someone spraying me while I'm in my skivies...ha. & I hear the ones where you just stand & rotate while a machine sprays you look weird.

Are the spray tans you buy in the store any good? I don't want anything that's orange-fake....could anyone reccommend any specific product I can buy that's good?

& how easy are they to use?

oh & are there even tanning beds or spray tan machines, etc...for just your legs?

thank you.

It is far more uncomfortable for you than the salon staff. They have seen hundreds (if not thousands) of people in the britches (or nothing at all...) They think nothing of it... kinda like your doctor...

I would stay away from self tanners in stores. Esh... those things are just icky... I say just go in and get an air brush tan...

Find a salon that does NOT have the spray on tan by machine (like the Mystic Tan). I work at a tanning salon and we get people that come in to us on a daily basis to fix there spray on tan from the automatic machine. The machines can't tell if you are getting blotchy or orange. They can't make sure it is even or too thin. Air Brush spray tans are amazing!

The only air brush spray tan solution we have found to work the absolute best is by 'California Tan'. So if you call around ask what brand they use. 'Breeze' is a good solution as well.

At the salon I work at, our spray on tan is $39. Just a one time spray last 2 weeks. No one looks orange or funky. You look like you have a sun kissed bronzed tan. Even if you are pale as a marshmallow. It gradually fades away, and you look the same as before. Not spots or funky tan lines. You want to find a salon that takes the time to ask you what you want and are looking for. They should be professional and not seem 'rushed'.

It is worth the money if it is done right. It is not something you want to do a whole lot. If you are looking for a year round tan, try the tanning beds(which only go through the first 3 layers of your skin rather than all 7 with the suns rays).

Before you go in and have it done you will want to shave and exfolite (the night before). Put lotion on the night before (no deoderant). The day of you will NOT want to use any lotion, body sprays or deoderant (they can react with the chemicles in the spray solution and turn you green). The salon staff should give you a special lotion (or barrell cream) to put on your feet and hands to keep them from getting darker than the rest of your body. It won't turn your hair colores (if you dye it) so don't worry. You will want to wear dark loose fitting clothing. You wont be able to shower for 8 hours.

Some tanning salons do have leg tanners. Or you can just use a chair and put your legs in a tanning bed (we have many pregnate women do this)...

Have fun!

I LOVE Mystic Tan! It is offered at many tanning salons, and it is a machine that you stand inside and get sprayed (no people involved). There are 3 levels; 1 is the lightest, and 3 is very dark. It is pricey, though- $30 a session, unless you buy a package deal, which is what I always do. For about $375, I can be very tan all summer, and each session ends up being closer to $10. It's worth it, because it looks natural and it's fast and easy.

I've bought nearly every tanning product available, and my favorites are Banana Boat and Loreal "Sublime". I usually avoid the spray tanners, though. They dry too fast, and it's difficult to get an even tan. If you buy a cream, definitely buy one that has a tint so that you don't streak or miss a spot.

With any self tanner, you MUST exfoliate and shave first, to prevent patchy dark spots. And go easy on the hands and feet. Don't forget to scrub your hands afterward to avoid orange palms! It took me quite a while to "perfect" the fake tanning, but it's worth it. I'm 35 and still am asked for ID when ordering drinks! Good luck!

I used to work at a tanning salon. i worked there for three years and the spray tans they had.... no one does it a machine does, they usually turn out pretty good at first but if you don't keep on doing it it will look splotchy and if you scrub to hard while bathing it will splotch i really do not recommend you do it. As for the ones in the store they normally turn out looking orange and again they splotch. I only recommend using a tanning bed or outside. I really hope i could help.

I'm using a sunless tanning cream for a long time and I should say it looks ok, not fake or orange. I tryied Ambre Solaire - it's ok and works in 1 hour, some work in 4. Exfoliate your skin well, apply moisturizing body lotion and only then - the tanning product you choose. wash your hands and wipe your elbows, knees, belly button... You can also mix the tanning cream with your favourite body lotion, your tan will appear gradually in this way but no spots. don't forget to wash hands anyway. for face I use Nivea Sunkissed skin, it's ok. Don't forget bronzing powder, it also helps to look tanned

i locate the main suitable arising tanner is L'Oreal elegant Bronze Spray. Spray 10-20cm faraway from you physique and rub in. Use a tanning mit or cotton gloves with latex gloves below, this could be sure that your palms do no longer strengthen the tan. additionally, bare in techniques that when you spray your larger physique, the surplus mist finally travels to your feet, so use sparingly on your feet as they could have had sufficient outfitted up already. It lasts approximately 7 days regardless of showering. No streaks! solid success!

There is nothing specifically for your legs. I would suggest a tanning lotion, like neutrogena build a tan. That way, you can apply the deepness of color that you want and also do it in the privacy of your own home.

Hi. There's a great product out there called Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. There actually made to cover freckles, veins, etc. I get a shade darker than my actual skin tone to make them look like they have a great tan. Hope this helps!

Well, the ones you buy in the store usually don't work that great, like drugstore ones..
But a few professional ones I would highly reccomend are these:
