The MP3 movie file originated as a download in AVI format and was then converted to MP3 format.

I want to be able to burn the file onto a CD-R, and have it be playable in a standard DVD player connected to my TV.

1. MP3 is a sound format. AVI is a video container.
2. Most DVD players can play MP3 files out of the box.
3. If you want to play a MOVIE, you may need to convert the AVI file to an MPG. You can do this with "Any Video Converter."

The free version at the bottom of the page should work fine.

No. Some CD players will play CDs with mp3 files on them, but you need a DVD player to play DVDs.

just make a playlist in itunes with the file and click burn disk ... itunes will make it playable in a dvd player as long as the dvd player supports mp3 format
