My husband has about 12 credits now. Deploying before he gets out. ETS around Aug.2009. He's an E-4, medic. He says his MOS gives him college credit so he only lacks around 4-6 classes for an associate's I believe. How competitive is green to gold active duty option? How exactly does it work? He'd like to do his degree in PA. Otherwise, how does the regular green to gold option work?Is it easier to get?How does this work?He plans to get back in afterwards. I've looked online about the green to gold program, but I was wondering if anyone had experience or knows more about how it all works? Thanks.

I would like to warn you about one thing I saw with Green to Gold Cadets in my ROTC program.

Sometimes they have problems transitioning from the real Army to the "play Army" of AROTC and end up dropping out of the program. You have to go in with the mindset that some 20 year old Cadet Sergeant Major who has never been active duty before is now your boss and making some dumb decesions. Just remember, its part of the learning experience for that Cadet too.
