It shows disrespect and is insensitive to the space and needs of others to express themselves. Just plain rude in my book. Mmm

The phrase per se is not wrong, but it sounds rude and aggressive.
There are better ways to ask for silence and get the expected result without hurting people feelings.

It's rude and generally unnecessary. I was never allowed to use the phrase "shut up" when I was a kid.

Easy to answer , does it make you feel good when someone tells you to "shut up", not me, so it must be negative response for which you will in return receive a negative response back and so on........it hurts, so it can hurt you, no reason to use it.
Love life and live to love and refuse all negativity in your life.

Is not a cuss word but it does show certain disrespect. It really depends on how you say it. If you say it jokingly, it's okay but if you say it in a harsh tone, it can be very hurtful.

it's not necessarily a bad word, it's just kind of rude and can be hurtful. It's just more repectful to ask someone if they could please be quiet, or something of that nature.
