I got a gift card to old navy for my birthday, and while I greatly appreciate the thought, i HATE old navy. It's very much not my style. Is there any way I can return the card for a refund? Even if I got ahold of the receipt?

Call Old Navy first so you do not waste a trip.
If no refund, then sell it to a friend who likes Old Navy?

There are some online sites that purchase gift cards, but you only get like HALF the value. For example, $150 instead of $300. But, if that's what you want, you might check it out. Another option, if you're on a board of some sort - or Facebook - you could arrange a trade with someone. Just try not to get ripped off. Good luck!

Gift cards i am sure are nonrefundable. The reason for this is because the person buying the gift card chose to do so instead of giving cash, so the business is in no way, even with a receipt, going to give you the money that is on a gift card. I am sure you can find something you like in any store if you look hard enough. Be gracious and not so picky on the gifts you receive.

I've heard that there's websites out there that specifically do gift card exchanges. I'm not sure how they work, I've never used them before. I'm assuming it's like an ebay kind of thing. I heard about it around the holidays.

I would just google gift card exchange or something to find out the exact websites.

I was just thinking about this not too long ago b/c I'm sure I'll get another $50 gift card for Starbucks from my cousin. Even though I love coffee, I would rather have a credit to a furniture or clothing store.

There is NO way you can return a gift card....I used to work there and SO many people would say the same thing...

take a look in the store, chances are there is SOMETHING in there you'd probably like.... pajamas, socks, even underwear or a bathrobe.

You can save it and wait for someone's birthday to come up and buy a gift for them with your gift card
OR
You can sell it to someone you know that likes the store.

Maybe if you got the receipt. But probably not. People tend to steal gift cards and use their own equipment to "load" them and then either use them to buy things or try to get their money back so stores are really iffy bout that. Maybe you can find someone who likes Old Navy who would be willing to give you the cash.

No you cant, but you know it is really not my style either, but lately I LOVE it. I have been going nuts buying owrkout gear there, and just other cute things that you can wear at home, you dont have to just buy stuff to wear out. They have great pajamas, shorts, crappy flip-flops to wear around the yard, great workout gear, the sports bras are of good quality. So go take a look, I'm sure you will find something!

Hmmm...I really don't think you can return a gift card :( Maybe you can use it to buy future gifts for someone else? Or, use to buy necessities like tanks, underwear, socks, etc?

I did...All I said was my sister and I got confused and we both bought a gift car for my father for his birthday so I dont need this one. They took it back and gave me cash, but the card was bought with cash. You have a receipt and if it was bought on a CC they may just credit it back and you get nothig.

Its rude to return it to the giver! How about using it as a gift for someone else!
