Spend the money and go to a professional.
Reasons:
It's gonna hurt!
You have to make sure everything is sterilized.
It's hard to get the correct angel yourself.

I'm not sure where you would get a needle sharp enough. Professionals use special needles that are super sharp so they go through easily and that are gaged properly for the piercing you want.

Mostly though it's gonna hurt like hell.

Once again the age old myths come to life.

Professionals use hollow, tri-bevel needles that cut a slit. Dermal punches, which are used either for scarification or some cartilege piercings, remove a plug of skin.

Flames do not sterilize. Steam autoclaving and Ethylene Oxide are the only acceptable methods. MInd you people have been poking with less for thousands of years, but we have better now.

Self-piercing can be done, but it's not recommend.

1. STERILE piercing needle
2. STERILE (at least hopefully) jewelry.
3. Lurking on the http://iam.bmezine.com community groups.

In general, it's not really cost effective. I probably self-pierce once every two to four weeks, but I don't put in any jewelry because the point of that exercise is to enjoy the piercing experience.

Inner part of the ear and nose will be very painful. Belly buttons are very difficult because you need to know how to do a surface piercing. If you're asking this kind of question in this forum, you probably don't know enough to safely do a surface piercing.

I was playing with my needles once when I gave a few new ones to a friend. I looked away to pierce myself for fun and then look back at her to see two 19 gauge needles through her lips, which impressed me much since I have had my lips sewn shut with suture needles for a show and won't yet self pierce my lips.

I cannot imagine myself attempting any of those piercings, even though I self-pierce often. Between the pain being too much, placement too critical, or risk of infection too high (this applies mostly to the belly button), I'd opt to have a professioal do them.

you deffinitly shouldnt even try piercing your own nose that can least to a major inection, and i woulnt try your belly button eaither. dont pierce your bellybutton with a safety pin. you need a 14g piercing needle. b/c most barbells or banana bells for your bellybutton are 14g and wont fit in the hole if you use a safety pin. you'll just end up with a nice old scar and some scar tissue

but there are ways to pierce your ear and lip. make sure you use a needle not a saftey pin and make sure the needle is sharp, you may want someone else to do it for you. Burn the needle to get any bacteria off it because you dont want an infection. Then you numb the area with ice or even baby teething gell which numbs the area too, then you take the neele and press it threw your ear/lip yo mostley would one to push it threw with a bottle cap. then you leave it in for a few moment take it out and then out in the stud, make sure you clean the pierceing often so you dont get an infection,

good luck

at home, you can use your keys to drive your car to a piercer to spend your money on sterile professional piercings.

Seriously. Don't do this yourself. This is a really stupid idea. Piercings are puncture wounds, which are really nasty if they get infected. A great way to insure an infection is starting with an unsterile needle. And how exactly would you pierce the inner part of your ear yourself? That's a tragus, incidentally. You can't see your ear. another great way to get an infection is to use jewelery and tools that haven't been autoclaved.

bad bad bad idea...

I highly suggest not doing this. but if you will then dont be stupider than you already are for doing this.
Go get four 14 gauge hollow needles. Got one of them around the house? Then find:
14 gauge nose screw
14 gauge barbell
14 gauge labret
now are you talking about tragus? if you are then get either two more labrets or short barbells. And get some body clamps too.

get some gloves too.

Steralize the needle and jewelry. Do you know how to do that?
"Nothing will sterilize body jewelry except an autoclave"
got one of them? if not then you can just cut your arm open and go play in dirt to get the same type of infection.
im pretty sure you can see one of those here:
http://piercing.org/statim

After you steralize everything then put your gloves on and grab the needle. where do you want to start?

lets do nose. Place clamp on the spot of your nose youd like to pierce. Simple now, shove needle through. Remove clamp and insert jewelry. and done and ready for infection.

belly button, get new needle, clamp down and go.

Lip, new needle, clamp and go.

inner ear, new needle again, clamp and go.

seriously come on. think it out a little

Seriously I would suggest NOT doing this at home. First of all, you are not trained in piercing. Piercers do not use just any needle, they use a hollow needle which removes a plug of skin which is necessary with some piercings. Also, you do not have a sterile environment in which to do this. Try googling infected piercings. That should be enough to deter you from trying this yourself.

I always tell anyone looking to DIY pierce at home, that it is a no-no!

1) kristyne is right , not only havei heard stories of people hitting nerves or going to deep and damaging the skin, but its just not safe.

2) go to a piercer who is clean and who has a license!

Im sure you have a brain in your head, now use it.

Start with some needles, 316lvm jewlery, a sterile single use pen, an autoclave, and a sterile room.
Or you could save yourself a lot of time and pain and go see a professional with experiance so you don't have really interesting scars since you don't know what your doing.

umm....you shouldn't. if you have to get an at home one [which isn't that bad] ask a freind whose done it before to do it for you.

if no one does it...
then first you should sterlaize the needle....i put it over a flame for a couple minutes, then take a cottone ball with rubbing alcohol and wipe the needle through it. then for extra precaution i also take another cotton ball and put peroxide on it.
then you need to do the same with whatever your using as jewelry.
get some ice, hold it on where your piercing for a while til its completely numb.
it might bleed...if it does take a cotton bal and get peroxide on it to keep it clean while it stops bleeding and starts to heal.

good luck.

I really wouldnt recommend doing that. You can get an infection a lot easier that way. Just save some money up and go to a professional.
