Yeah some files don't open with the default bomarchive thingy , I 4got exactly what it's name is, anyway download and install UnArchiver from here http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/30810 then double click on your downloaded file. Is your download a Mac app?

Err...it sounds like you bought a Windows-only game for your Mac. You should do one of two things: if your Mac is a newer one with an Intel processor, just install Windows on it using Boot Camp and you'll be able to play it. Otherwise, just return the game and next time, make sure that the game you're getting is the Mac version. Some games, especially ones from Blizzard, sometimes come with Mac and Windows versions on a single disc.

Is there a .exe extension on the end of the file name? If so, this is a PC file.

Does this happen with ALL files you try to download?
