The true believers ; They believe in the both the sanctity of life and the infallibility of the State. They can't be Conservatives because one of the basic principles of American Conservatism is the mistrust of the power of the State. A true conservative would oppose the death penalty because he would find the 12% of innocent people on death row to be an unacceptle amount of innocent people to kill in order to get a point across.

I don't understand why anyone has a problem with this. This stance aims to protect the innocent and punish the guilty (of the worst crimes).
This is a far superior moral code than those of liberals who are 'pro-choice', ie pro-abortion and anti death penalty. Does it make any moral or logical sense to be a proponent of killing the innocent while allowing the most heinous criminals to live!? And those who are guilty...when released back into society, often repeat their crimes. This is moral depravity to the extreme.
Now, if one wants to argue that the use of the death penalty and/or how it is applied to various criminal is problematic...then there's plenty of room for discussion. But the underlying morality of the death penalty, reserved for the worst of the worst, is sound.

The difference between the two is that in the death penalty, people are actually somewhat deserving. While i think we do not have the choice of life or death. In abortion, you are MURDERING an innocent child, through which the bible says is planned soul woven in the mothers womb. Its not just a 'fetus.' Its a human, which one woman chooses to sacrifice because she made a stupid mistake. Tell me which ones worse, the murder of millions of children a year? or the death penalty for those that brutally take the life of others. Abortion is disgusting, no matter what the circumstanced. Theres no reason a child should have to pay the price for ANYBODYS mistake

Being professional existence and professional death penalty isn't hypocritical. It has to do with accountability. Freedom and Liberty demands voters to act in a to blame way and to grant appropriate rewards and outcomes for the effect of events. you will possibly desire to rejoice with the culmination of your very own labors and be held in charge for injury you reason. you may decide the main appropriate factors for your self and draw your very own logical end. toddlers are harmless and should no longer be killed. Doing what it takes to grow to be pregnant is a call, stay with the effect. If a being pregnant replaced into no longer a call (rape or incest case in point) then an abortion is appropriate if the mother chooses that answer to the difficulty. some murders deserve the death penalty. We get into hardship as quickly as we could like the government to take over what's our very own accountability to administration.

I'm against both the death penalty and abortion (and war and euthanasia) for the same reason. No person has the right to end another person's life just 'cuz that person is in their way or ticks them off or whatever.

I'm a Christian, Catholic to be exact, and I am both anti-abortion and anti-death penalty. I do believe, however, that we give criminals too many nice things while they are in prison. Take away the gym, the library, and the A/C and give them picks and shovels. Take away the meals that include a main dish, dessert, etc. and give them ham sandwiches.

I would say no more of an oxymoron than those who are pro-choice and against the death penalty. I believe they are referred to as the "liberal left"

Any sensible human being who understands that the death penalty is for those who have committed a heinous crime and not for children who are only guilty of being "inconvenient".

Confused people. They are either pro life or not they need to make up thier minds. Either they let God do the giving and taking of life or not-you should not pick and choose when you are playing God.
