I am going to be a senior this year and have never had a boyfriend...ONLY crushes. I have never been kissed and only have been on one date....and that was for prom. I am kinda a shy person but I thought that I would have a bf by now. All of the guys I like are preppy and popular and I am neither of that. Did anyone else not date much in high school but later on found some one?? I want to grow up and get married but based on high school...I will probably be an old maid. And I highly doubt I will get a bf my senior year. Someone....can you please give me advice? Thanks!

I am also very shy when it comes to expressing my feelings about hott guys around my parents. I have NEVER told my parents that I thought some guy was cute. I have told them that I don't feel comfortable talking to them about guys but I am interested in guys and I do have crushes at school. Do u think my parents will start to think that I am a lesbian even though I am not??

Don't worry, both of my best friends are really pretty but they did not have a boyfriend till senior year and after. One of them got a boyfriend half way through senior year and the second one got a boyfriend after high school. They are both very happy now. It doesnt matter if you dont date in high school, your time will come and you'll find someone great.

I was the same way. Never had a boyfriend in High School. I thought the same thing. Old maid not guys. My last semester in High School. I met someone that did not go to my High school, we worked together and he was my age. He was the first guy I confessed my love to. He told me he didn't want anything serious. After a few months I quit felt sad and didn't see or talk to him. 2 yrs later, Out of now where I ran into him at a restaurant. We exchanged numbers but I didn't call him 'cause I was in a serious relationship. About 9 months later we broke up. I called him. We started dating. 2 months later he moved in w/ me. A yr later we got married and have been for 5 yrs. Moral of the story. Don't look to hard. The right one will come along. Enjoy your life for know. Experience in college. LOL

One thing you surely know by now is that boys your age are not particularly bright when it comes to dealing with girls.

You should stay patient and involve yourself in some activities that put you around more people, but without the pressure of dating. Group settings are a safer and better place to get to know a potential dating partner.

Many people meet their eventual marriage partners in college and the "in crowd" in high school are often the unhappiest of adults. Can you imagine hitting your peak at 17? How sad is that?!?!?!

You sound like a thoughtful person with the right kind of priorities. Remember that dating is really meant to find a marriage partner, and that people who don't see it that way end up being very miserable. Your parents understand, and I promise you that they are relieved that you're not out chasing guys!!!

Not to worry. I never had a serious relationship until the summer after my sophomore year of college...and we're still together. I never thought I'd meet a guy I'd get serious with either, and just when I least expected it, boom! I love him to death! It'll happen, but you're still young. Just have fun being single and flirting!!

Dunno what to tell you about your parents. If it comes up again let them know that there are guys at school that you're interested in but you'd rather not talk to them about it....that's what friends are for, not parents.

The right guy for you has not passed your way. If your nice, have fun with friends and family, work hard in school, know how to relax. Of course parents will not think that. If they do comment on it say Mom & Dad I have high standards waiting for a good guy to pass my way.....

I never had a boyfriend in high school ever. I also had never been kissed. I was worried I would never find someone.
Freshman year in college, men started paying attention to me. I got my first boyfriend......a hot guitarist in a rock and roll band. I was with him for seven years before I broke up with him. Now I am single and loving it . Too many men....too little time. *lol* Don't worry. You will be fine. :)

i hang out with a bunch of
guys
and i'd never had a boyfriend
untill my current one
never been kissed any of that
but as soon as i started dating him
all of the guys i'd had previous crushes
on told me they liked me

why did they wait till i had a boy?
because they didn't think i was the
type that would want a boyfriend
so they never made the attempt to
get me

get it?
BE OPEN
don't be afraid of rejection.

All that changes after you graduate and out of high school. That's when most of the your party experiences begin because your friends move out of their parents' house or your friends friends move out and they throw parties and you'll meet guys out there. Don't look for it just let come to you.
