mi brother wants to lift weights but i dont kno if it stunts his height
he is 16

It will have no impact on his height one way or another. It will make him stronger at that age, not a bad thing for a guy at 16.

No..done correctly, it can build definition and strength. Done incorrectly, it can injure or even kill
(free weights+bench press +no spotter = strangulation sometimes).

All in all, weight lifting is an effective tool for physical training.
Get a good program. Get a trainer..at least at first. Get a decent weight set 110lb is very good for starters.

No, I dont think so you said hes 16? Well I have heared that you are to young then you can harm your bones lifting weights. But hes 16 hes ok...
