Not only in captivity, but naturally and in the wild lions and tigers have been known to mate.

The females of this hybrid are often fertile and able to have cross-cross bread children.

Why would god design two separate species that can cross breed and have fertile healthy babies?

They are clearly not the same species.

Yet tigers and leopards cannot successfully crossbreed.

Tabbies and Manx are different breeds of cat but are the same species.
Labradors and poodles are the same species as well.
Lions and Tigers are NOT the same species. In fact when they crossbreed with the male as the lion their offspring is unusually large because lions and tigers keep the gene that controls size in a totally different location of their genome.

The video TRIES to make them sound exotic. They usually happen on accident.

It is unlikely a mating of this type would ever occur in the wild, for a number of reasons.

Firstly, lion and tiger habitats do not meet, though you'll often hear claims that they overlap in one area of the world, this being the Gir National Park and Lion Sanctuary in Bangladesh. The truth is tigers are not found within 100 miles of Gir Forest.

Within the sanctuary itself is the only lion subspecies found outside of Africa. This is the very rare Asiatic lion (only a few hundred remain and they face extinction). The lion rules in Gir Forest and no tigers are found there. Tigers are not found in Africa, and are restricted to Asia.

as you'v e read they are only bread in a MANMADE habitat, i wouldn't count that against God because heck, he didn't make it that way, men did, so tell me, why are there ligers in the world?

even your clip says: this liger exists out of a BAZAR breeding... its a CAPTIVE bread super cat.... he was raised since he was 1..... they do NOT exist in the wild.... they ONLY live in captivity!

listen up... its all there

they didn't do that by themselves... so why do you think that proves anything against creation?

Because lions and tigers are the same "kind".

Why would they be able to breed if they're not the same "species", according to the Fairy Tale of Evolution?

"They are clearly not the same species."
Creationists agree. It's evolutionists that say they're the same species. Makes you wonder who's right after all?

"Yet tigers and leopards cannot successfully crossbreed."
Which means nothing, since there are members of the same species that cannot, for one reason or another, interbreed.

Actually, there are no known instances of wild tigers and lions mating, so far its only been in captivity, unless you've got some major news story we've all missed. Tiglon and liger males are usually larger than the normal lion or tiger, and they are also usually infertile, thus ending their line. You might want to do your homework before asking questions.

I don't seem to understand why this is a problem for Creationists. Both the species are large cats. Their existence isn't that much different than the existence of a mule. Other than correcting you by saying that the range of these large cats no longer overlaps so that these animals no longer inter- breed I don't see a problem... Jim

I am not sure why you only refer this question to Creationists.

Since you did, are you trying to say because ligers, some sort of a cross bread, exists it's possible for an amoeba to become a shrimp, shrimp to fish, fish to lizard, lizard to dog, dog to monkey and monkey to man? Cross breeding is very different from skipping around from species to species.

Because lions and tigers are both felines. That's why. I've seen one before, no need for the video. They're both Big Cats, so what? I don't get the point of this question. What about mules? What?

They are still cats. And yes, they are the same species. CATS. You can cross a Siamese with a Tabby. Why? Because they are CATS!

huh? What are you trying to say with this questions. Lions and Tigers mate, so there are ligers in the world. That does not negate the Creation story. Sorry!!

There wasn't a Noah so the rest of the question is meaningless. Sorry. Kinda like getting into the science of how Santa and his reindeer can fly the entire planet in one night bringing presents to all the good girls and boys.
