I know once you consume the calories it's too late, but is there anyway to redeem yourself (or at least make yourself feel less guilty?)

Do extra exercises. Or, if you don't exercise, start. Eat light at your next couple of meals.

yes, just start over again as if it never happened. Tell yourself you made a mistake and you are going to stick with your plan this time. Make yourself eat a few less calories than you are allowed in your food consumption for the next day. Than you will feel better about yourself and your body will know that you mean business. Make sure you have a goal that you can reach and don't treat yourself with something that will make you want to splurge again. We all make mistakes, but what happens in the long run is what counts.

I'm not a believer in going from one extreme to the next, so, my advice is to drink lots of water and resume your regular eating plan. If your splurge has only happened once in a long while, then the outcome won't be devastating. Please don't consider 'barfing everything up" or engaging in extreme physical activity (especially if you haven't been working out much to begin with). Just get back to normal and chalk this one up to a "slip" of the mind and tongue!
