If it's only out of those 3, then I would suggest either Jeet Kune Do or Shoalin Karate.

Off hand I would say either Karate or Kempo. I would highly recommend that you go and watch a few classes at each. The reason why I say this is some schools are more self-defense oriented than others and it sounds like that is what you are mainly looking for.

Stand-up self-defense situations usually only last a short time if ended quickly or you tend to end up on the ground so also look to see if they offer some ground fighting aspects. Besides the usual punching, kicking, striking techniques with the hand and foot the use of the elbows and knees should also be taught. This way you have techniques for not only stand up and at far, medium, and close range but also techniques for fighting and defending yourself on the ground. Besides this single and multiple attacker scenarios should be covered at the more advance levels of training. A school that is self-defense oriented will teach all or most of this as well as other aspects like chokes, joint locks, take-downs, reaps, and some controlling techniques.

i have been doing martial arts for 7 years now and i think taekwondo is a devastating martial art but out of those 3 i would pick karate i think it would give the person u r fighting little chance to even touch u due to it's very quick moves
but dont go to the first karate school u see look around for an okinowan or mainland japanese style they work best

I'm a Kajukenbo and Uechi-Ryu stylist, and I would suggest the Shaolin Kempo Karate. Kempo is street based self defense system and not geared toward competition. Kempo is all about over kill. I personally love the over kill. Check it out and see how it works for you.

JKD and Shaolin Kenpo are more for real life situations Tang So DO is more of a competitive sport for show.
