just because your periods are heavy doesn't mean you have cervical cancer. I have HPV and had precancer cells and had no symptoms. I was diagnosised during a papsmear when they saw abmormal cells on the smear.
Have you had a pap smear in awhile? You should be getting them once a year, they will determine if you have any abnormalities. Heavy periods could be a sign of something else, or completely normal. Normal periods can last up to 7 days for some people. But I would talk to your doctor and schedule an exam. The discharge could be normal as well or signs of an STD. Don't worry about having cancer though. It's highly unlikely.

Cervical Cancer

The cervix is the lower part of the uterus, the place where a baby grows during pregnancy. Cervical cancer is caused by several types of a virus called human papillomaviruses (HPV). The virus spreads through sexual contact. Most women's bodies are able to fight HPV infection. But sometimes the virus leads to cancer. You're at higher risk if you smoke, have many children, use birth control pills for a long time, or have HIV infection.

Cervical cancer may not cause any symptoms at first, but later, you may have pelvic pain or bleeding from the vagina. It usually takes several years for normal cells in the cervix to turn into cancer cells. Your health care provider can find abnormal cells by doing a Pap test - examining cells from the cervix under a microscope. By getting regular Pap tests and pelvic exams you can find and treat changing cells before they turn into cancer.

A vaccine for girls and young women protects against the four types of HPV that cause most cervical cancers.

It is virtually impossible for cervical cancer to occur without first having an HPV infection.

There are so many things that can cause discharge and heavy periods. Endometriosis, Fibroids, ovarian cysts...just a few things that could cause your symptoms. Chart your flow, how heavy is your flow, more than a pad an hour how many days do you bleed...do have pain? Having all this written down will help your doctor find your diagnosis.

Your doctor is there to help you let him or her know what is going on

I wish you well.

You are correct that you may develop cervical cancer without HPV. Vaginal discharge and heavy menstrual cycles are not symptoms of cervical cancer. Unfortunately to resolve either or both of these problems you will need to see a physician. A vaginal discharge may be normal or it may be a sign of one of many different types of infections. An infection does not imply that it was sexually transmitted. Heavy menstrual cycles are most typically treated with oral contraceptives by which means it is possible to minimize or even eliminate menstrual cycles.
