No but I got one with a similar sentiment.
I was paying for a movie ticket, and the cashier looked from me to the bill, and back and forth a few times. Then he said, "Wow, you must have had a rough day!" Then he showed me the bill - it had "God is dead" written on it.
I just laughed.

It has not happened to me. I've received bills with other stuff written on them like the "Where is George?" website.

I would just spend it.

Why should I do anything? I wouldn't know who did it.

It isn't actually defacing the bill if it is still spendable.

It is just someone making a statement of their opinion. People are free to have their own opinion.

Granted they often find unusual or silly places to state them ... free way overpasses, railway boxcars, bathroom walls and stalls, bumper stickers, and the dollar bill.

I've actually seen a bill like that before. Frankly, I believe in the separation of church and state, so I felt that such an action was perfectly justified. (However, I've got better things to do with my time than draw on money.)

Actually, I think it would be better to add an "L" to the phrase and make it "In Gold We Trust". That's a more honest assessment of American spirituality.

No, and I'd spend it. I don't spend a lot of time checking out dollar bills, though if you have fun with that, go for it. Personally, I get bored too easily to do something that mundane.

I honestly have never looked...if I ever got one I would spend it just the same though.
I guess I think crossing out words on money is juvinille- I will trust is God all the same if it is crossed out, replaced or taken off all together.

No I have never received a bill with IN GOD WE TRUST crossed off, if I did, I would still spend it but I would pray for whoever thinks they can really live this life to it's fullest without Him.

I never have. However, if and when I do, I'd say, "tsk, tsk, tsk... what a sad shame." Then I'd shake my head and toss it on the lunch table along with the other bills for a tip.

No, I haven't.

But, if I did, it wouldn't matter. "In God We Trust" is a belief, not what's printed on a piece of paper.

I tracked down the person who did it and witnessed to them for six hours.
