almost 60 days after the card had been cancelled. They are saying that it needs to be investigated. Is this bank fraud. Shouldn't that card have come up invalid when someone tried to use it???? Is the bank responsible for replacing this money?

You shouldn't be responsible for any charged as long as you gave notice. I would also notify the 3 credit bureaus and have it put on FRAUD ALERT. You can reach them at 1 800-680-7289.

Yes, the bank is responsible if you reported the card cancelled.

All you have to do is give them the confirmation number that they gave you when you cancelled it.
