i got my bellybutton pierced almost 2 months ago, and everything was fine and i've been cleaning it twice a day like i was told to. but after i cleaned it today i noticed something different.... there's a red bump under the bar, it looks like either a blister or a bugbite. it only hurts when i move certain ways, but other than that it's just an ugly thing. i want to keep it in for my boyfriend to see when he comes back home from bootcamp (i got it a few daysafter he left) but obviously i'm gonna have to take it out if something's wrong with it.... is there? :(

You probably have an infection starting and you don't want it to get any worse, as these can become very dangerous. Clean around the area with Q-tips dipped in hydrogen peroxide. Use one Q-tip for each swipe and don't redip in the peroxide container. Allow it to dry thoroughly and apply a thin film of Bactroban or other good antibacterial cream. Do this 3 times a day. make sure your belly button ring is either surgical steel or 14 k gold or more. If you feel increasing soreness, increased temperature at the site or the redness increases and pus begins to form, it is no longer a thing you can try to treat at home, and you should see a doctor immediately. Try to keep it clean and dry, and check to make sure you were up to date on the tetnus shot.
