why am I so scared?

I am so scared to let a guy, any guy in. So I am afraid I will never find the love of my life cause I might be too afraid to give him a chance. Any suggestions ot thoughts?

You know, I didn't get married until I was 31 and my reason was that I came from a home where my mother and us kids were very controlled by my father (I mean, everything we ate, wore, etc.) and when I left home at 17 I vowed that I would never let anyone control me again. To me, being married or even in a relationship not only meant that they might try to tell me what to do, but that I would have to obligate my precious time to someone who may end up fvcking me over. I spent my entire twenties working, going to college, doing what I wanted and finally met someone who I could get along with. Granted, he tries to pull that "Do what I say crap on me" but I don't allow control or abuse. I don't need him for an income or sex; I am with him because I love him and he knows that if he makes me love him less than I hate the things he does, he will find himself back at his mother's or in a garage apartment eating cold ravioli out of a can.

If you are younger than 21, you have plenty of time to find love. Truly. 21-27 is when you should find your love, and get married. You should let guys in your life, they will come and go. You are probably scared he'll doing something bad to you? If so, have a few dates in public places, like a theater.

Think about what you are asking. What advice would you give a friend under the same circumstances? All I can tell you is to calm down and learn to trust someone and become their friend first.

The right guy will give you all the time you need. Just dont use it to manipulate or get your way all the time.
