i took several pictures and when i tried to zoom in it said " unrecognized file format". i tried uploading them to the computer, but they wouldnt show up. so i decided to keep them in there until i could find a way to get them out.
when i took out the battery (to charge it) and placed it back in, none of my photos wouldnt show up (which is weird because ive done it many times before with my pictures that do upload to the computer), instead it says " unrecognized file format" with a black background. on the latest photo i took, only the top 1/10 of the picture comes up, the rest is blacked out. what can i do!??! this pictures are very important to me. i went to costco (where i got it) and even their photo center doesnt know what to do.
I also cannot take anymore photos, and the camera is supposed to be able to hold 120 photos (there are only 12!). i deleted one once to see what would happen, but it still says "memory is full"

my camera is a Kodak EasyShare C663. please help!!

As others have said format your card to make it work. Pros format their card every time they transfer the pics to the computer. They say it cuts down on the problems with corrupted files.

PhotoRecovery may help. I have never had this problem so cant speak to how it works but its worth a shot.

MajorGeeks.com has a few free programs that might fit the bill.

It sounds like the photos did not store correctly and the files are corrupt. You could try a file recovery program and see if you can get them back that way. If that doesn't work then you will have to kiss those photos goodbye. To get the card to work again you will probably have to format it. Formatting will erase everything that was on the card.

Look through the camera's menus and search for an option to format the card. Formatting will wipe everything but it also sets the card up for use by the camera. After this the card should be usable. If you have other problems after this I would replace the card because you don't want to risk losing an important shot.
