Islam has nothing to do with terrorism

Probably about the same time they stop believing that the Crusades had anything to do with Christianity! As long as terrorists claim that they are doing the "will of Allah" and that they are participating in a holy jihad, people will believe that Islam is consistent with terrorism. It is truly unfortunate that people throughout all time have committed atrocities in the name of God...my only consolation is that God will deal with them in his own time.

Thankfully, I've been blessed to know a few Muslims personally and they really aren't all that different from me so at least I know better than to blame Islam for the sins people commit in the name of that religion!

To believe terrorism has nothing to do with islam is stupidity. The terrorists themselves say it. The homicide bombers scream it before blowing themselves and others up. allah and Muhammad both used the word terror when describing what to do to non-believers. Isn't it 8:12 from the quran that says allah will cast terror into the heart of the disbeliever so smite them? Come on. islam promotes violence.

God Bless.

There have been 100s of terrorist incidents in the last 10 years, and the terrorists have been inspired by passages in the Koran as well as political ends. Many cry "Allah Akbar" on the point of blowing up somebody's precious child or some other depressingly violent and brutal act.

There are passages in the Koran that are very violent. Moreover mohammed is so sure he is God's prophet that you can feel his rage at time with people who just won't accept his claims. And those rages are at the times of violent treatment of opponents. Since the Koran is the Word of Allah to muslim scholars, all these rages of Mohammed are readily seen as part of Allah's will, so some more violent muslims are actually inspired by these statements of Mohammed.

Most muslims are not so violent though ... in practice its an extremist fringe of 1-5%, supported by perhaps 10-15% of moslems - my guess percentages.

Never?

Islamic view on terrorism doesn't matter. It all depends on the way the media portray it. Hindus are slaughtering civilians in Sri Lanka, I'm talkin g about LTTE, but nobody pays attention. Media don't portray Hinduism as a violent religion...
ETA and IRA are catholics but still Catholicism is not considered violent because the media don't show it violent.

It's all about some sick political propaganda games...

Maybe when the reported ISLAMIC RIGHT stop promoting terror----Osama bin Laden for one!!! I realize that it is NOT all Islamic people who are terrorists.... but here in the USA, our news media HOUNDS us night after night after NIGHT with these words- - - "THE ISLAMIC TERRORISTS OF....." It is difficult to stop believing that terrorism has anything to do with Islam when we HEAR every day (in print, on TV, on radio AND on the internet) that it IS Islamic Terrorists who are causing all the problems ... is that brainwashing or are we actually hearing FACTS? who knows FOR SURE??????

As a Christian, I already know terrorism is an act of people possessed by the destroyer.

So is the inspiration (god) of Islam destructive? Does He ask his followers to deceive, or kill for His Name & in His Name & for Islam?

So? Terrorist go to a place of terror when they die (their soul does). Wether they do it for Islam or for some other destructive reasonings/musings (self righteous judgments) or purposes (money or desire for power, etc.).

Your question does a better job of associating the two than anything else.

Try posting some questions about Islam that don't mention the T word.

I would be interested to know more than just "We're not terrorists".

Probably when the terrorists stop shouting "allahu ackbar" as they blow themselves up.

Clearly, not all Muslims are terrorists, but there are groups within Islam that advocate hatred and terrorism.

When those who are moderates in Islam turn full force on those who commit evil acts in their name. It is the same reason I as a Christian keep getting blamed for the Crusades, Salem witch trials, Catholic priest sexual assults, and Benny Hyn.
