I would like to be able to use my camera SD card to get text etc. from my computer and then be able to read it from the SD card on the digital camera screen. I realize I could take a picture with the camera of the computer screen and accomplish this but I would like to try to go with computer screen to SD card and to SD card into the camera and read it.

You can't. A text file needs a software to translate the ascii digital coding to readable text. Moving a file to the card reader does not move the software, just the coded file. You can take that card and upload it to another computer, and use it's software to read the file.

But not from within your camera. Even if you were to find a software that could be loaded into your card reader, the camera wouldn't have the OS (operating software) to know what to do with it.

You would have to convert the text into a picture file. Any photo editing software should be able to do that. Pick a blank image and paste the text into the image and then save it. That is the only way I know of doing what you want to do.

No, of course not. 1. These are not storage and display devices and this is the single most common reason for card failure - storage and display. 2. The camera can only read files it took before they've been moved off of the card. When they are uploaded they are altered slight so the camera can't see them. This has been common knowledge for years - haven't you read this before and where have you been?

The text would have to be converted into a format the camera could recognize. I have never tried it, but can you export out the text as a jpeg using "save as"?

I don't think you can because the camera doesn't have a text reader built in.
