They probably laughed b/c of how silly not literally that joke was, they probably weren't laughing with you, but at you instead. But I guess thats good for a 4 year old to come up with. Anyways they were young and anything can/would be funny espcially in the moment.

cause as children develop they see everything a humorous world that is why they giggle and when they something is bad but it still makes fun of something so they laugh as a development of humor but other than i really dont find it funny
